Shoulder Instability
  • The x-rays shown are from a 13-year-old with recurrent left shoulder anterior dislocations. Xrays are shown with shoulder dislocated and following closed reduction.
  • An MRI of the same shoulder reveals a tear in the labrum and edema in the humeral head. These are referred to as Bankart (star) and Hill Sachs (large arrow) lesions, respectively.  Stabilization of the shoulder is performed arthroscopically.
